Pham Luc (born 1943 in Hue) is a leading contemporary Vietnamese painter. A former army artist, he’s known for his expressive style and use of burlap sacks as a unique canvas. His works depict Vietnamese life, culture, and people, and are collected worldwide. Often called the “Picasso of Vietnam,” he continues to paint daily in Hanoi.
